1. WHAT IS A COOKIE
A "cookie" is a small text file that a website saves on your computer or mobile device when you visit. Cookies allow the website to remember your actions and preferences (such as login state and language) over time so you do not have to re-enter them each time you return. 4. WHY THESE THIRD PARTIES RECEIVE INFORMATION
The advertising and functional cookies above transmit data to third parties as part of their operation:
Google (Google Analytics 4 + Google Ads): data is transmitted to Google for aggregated analytics and for ad-conversion attribution. Google may combine this data with other Google-held data to deliver advertising on Google properties or third-party sites participating in Google's advertising network.
Meta Platforms (Meta Pixel): data is transmitted to Meta for ad-conversion attribution. Meta may combine this data with other Meta-held data to deliver advertising on Facebook, Instagram, and the Meta Audience Network.
Zoho Corporation (Zoho SalesIQ): data is transmitted to Zoho for live-chat session storage and visitor-session sales tracking.
These third parties are not subprocessors processing student data and are not listed on the Aegix Subprocessor List, which is scoped to subprocessors handling Aegix platform data and student records. Cookie-borne data from website visitors is separate from any platform-user or student data.
5. CCPA / CPRA "SHARING" NOTICE AND YOUR OPT-OUT RIGHTS
Under the California Privacy Rights Act ("CPRA") and analogous
comprehensive privacy laws in Virginia (VCDPA), Colorado (CPA),
Connecticut (CTDPA), Texas (TDPSA), Oregon (OCPA), and other states, the
use of advertising cookies (_gcl_au and _fbp)
on the Aegix Website constitutes "sharing" of personal
information for cross-context behavioral advertising. You have the right
to opt out of this sharing.
You may opt out by any of the following means:
"Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" link. Click the "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" link in the Website footer. This sets an opt-out preference cookie that suppresses the advertising cookies on subsequent visits from the same browser.
Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. Aegix honors the Global Privacy Control browser signal as an opt-out-of-sharing request, consistent with the California Attorney General's guidance. Configure GPC in your browser's privacy settings or install a GPC-enabled browser extension.
Cookie preferences. Use your browser's cookie controls to block third-party cookies and to delete the
_gcl_auand_fbpcookies after they have been set.Email request. Email privacy@aegix.global with your request to opt out of "sharing" of your personal information.
Aegix will honor an opt-out request within 15 business days of receipt, consistent with CPRA timing requirements.
6. DO-NOT-TRACK ("DNT") SIGNALS
There is no industry or legal standard for honoring browser-issued Do-Not-Track signals; for that reason, the Aegix Website does not respond to DNT signals as a uniform mechanism. We do, however, honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal as described above, which has been adopted by California regulators as the appropriate opt-out signal under CPRA.
7. HOW TO CONTROL COOKIES IN YOUR BROWSER
Most browsers let you control cookies through the browser's settings. You can configure your browser to:
Block all cookies, including first-party cookies (this may affect Website functionality).
Block only third-party cookies, leaving first-party cookies enabled.
Delete cookies that have already been set.
Receive a prompt before any cookie is set.
The exact instructions vary by browser. Aegix recommends consulting your browser's help documentation for current controls. Note that opting out of analytics or advertising cookies via your browser does not delete data Aegix or its third-party partners have already collected.
8. CHANGES TO THIS COOKIE STATEMENT
